Kevin Soni Leaves Hatayspor With A HEAVY HEART

Kevin Soni has announced his departure from Hatayspor after witnessing an earthquake that claimed the lives of over 41,000 inhabitants of Turkey and Syria.


Having arrived from Greece last year, Soni an his entourage have decided to part ways with Hatayspor. In a message published on Tuesday, the Cameroonian international said he was leaving Hatay with a heavy heart. Kevin Soni lost his friend Christian Atsu in the earthquake that destroyed the city.

According to some sources, the Indomitable Lion will return to Asteras Tripolis, the Greek club which loaned him to Hatayspor.

‘First of all, I send my deepest condolences to all those who lost their lives or are missing as a result of the earthquake. In this difficult time, I wish patience and strength to all those who are worried about their families and loved ones.

‘I lost my friend Atsu in this earthquake. I speak with him after the goal, I will miss his joy, his personality and his humanity so much. I would like to thank my sports director, Taner Savut, for the support he has given me and for everything he has done for me.

‘I would like to thank the people of Hatay for their hospitality and interest. I leave Hatayspor with sadness. thank you for everything.’ a message from the socials of the 23-year-old reads.

Soni’s switch to Hatayspor was plagued by several injuries, and so, he made just three appearances. He scored 6 goals in 31 appearances prior to his arrival in Hatayspor.
