Lambert Araina Scores But FAR’s CAF Confed. Cup Journey Ends

23 year old Lambert Araina was on target for the first time in FAR uniform, but his side was edged in the latter stages by J.S Kabylie.

JSK on Sunday October 24th welcomed Moroccan representatives FAR Rabat in the reversed fixture of the second round of CAF Confederation Cup.

The game was in no way easy for JS Kabylie, who won under duress.

Having picked up a victory over the Royal Armed Forces (1-0) in Morocco, JS Kabylie validated their place in the next round with a 2-1 victory over FAR, in Algeria.

Ali Haroun gifted last season’s CAF Confed. Cup finalists the lead at the 56th minute, but Lambert Araina scored at the 58th minute to make the game delicately poised.

With FAR pushing for a goal that would have taken them through, Ali Haroun, the hero of the first leg in Morocco – and scorer of the game’s first goal, scored his third in the tie at the 93rd minute to send Kabylie through to the next round.

Araina’s goal however comes as some good news to the FAR Rabat faithfuls who would love to see the striker they purchased from Cotonsport, hit the back of the net more.

Lambert Araina scored 19 goals last season for Cotonsport. Anything close to that tally and Sven Vandenbroeck and his staff will be licking their lips in this year’s Botola Pro. Inwi.
