Ligue 1: Ganago Comes Back To Hunt Former Employers – Nice

Striker, Ignatius Ganago who started playing professional Football at OGC Nice – aged 18, in 2017, came back to hunt them on Sunday October 23.

On match day 12 of Ligue 1, Ignatius Ganago returned to where it all began for him.

“These are just good memories. It is the club that allowed me to discover and break into the professional world, ”said the FC Nantes striker post match.

It is equally with Nice that he opened his goal account in the French Ligue 1, in his first appearance, on September 9, 2017 (against Monaco 4-0).

Facing a well-established Nice team, Nantes had to wait until the second half before Ignatuis Ganago opened the scoring.

Well assisted by Simon Moses in the 51st minute, the former Nice striker placed beyond Danish goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel.

Replaced in the 72nd minute by his compatriot Jean Charles Castelletto, Ganago scored had done his job, scoring his third goal in Ligue 1.

While Nantes thought they had secured their victory, Alban Lafont committed a foul in his area in the 95th minute. Nicolas Pepe transformed his penalty, to take away a draw in the last minutes of the game. A score of parity which will not suit either team as Nice remains in 12th place and the boys of Kombouare on 15th, all after 12 match days.
