Ligue 1: Toko Ekambi On Target In Lyon’s 1-2 Defeat

Olympic Lyonnais and Indomitable Lions winger, Karl Toko Ekambi was out doing what he does best for French top tier franchise, OL despite a 2-1 defeat to Reims.

The 29-year-old increased his league 1 goal tally to five goals from a well composed assist from teammate, Jerome Boateng.

Separated by three points, Lyon and Reims played a goaless first half with Ekambi scoring at the 66th minute to draw Lyon level when Wout Faes had sent the visitors ahead after the break.

The last 20 minute of play proved tight for either side but, constant pressure from Reims paid off when Hugo Etiktike smashed in a loose ball to win it in added on time.

Karl Toko Ekambi has been very instrumental in Olympic Lyonnais’ Europa League successes and is among the competion’s top scorers.

He has equally featured all 16 league matches for Lyon and has been submitted just twice.
