Ligue 1: Wooh’s Rennes Defeat Ekambi’s Lyon

Stade Rennais continued its good series with young center half, Wooh Christopher.

After Europa league qualification, Rennes went on to beat Lyon in a see saw game (3-2) and quite logically dominated OL for the first game of Laurent Blanc, on Sunday, October 16.

Terrier, and Gouiri were the scorers for Rennes. Lacazette scored both goals for Lyon. Rennes have 21 points after 11 Ligue 1 games, a tally they have only reached twice in the 21st century, in 2007/08 and 2011/12 – the club finished 6th in each of those previous seasons. With 23 goals scored at this stage of the season, the Reds and Black had not done so well since 1963/64 (also 23 – 11th at the end).

While Wooh was part of the winning side, his country man – Toko Ekambi seems to be having little or no favours from newly appointed Laurent Blanc. Ekambi only made his way into the game at the 85th minute, replacing Nicolas Tagliafico.
