Lilepo & Abagna Score As Hilal Turns Cotonsport’s CAF CL. Return To A Nightmare

Mythical Garoua-based club, Cotonsport have been eliminated from the TotalEnergies CAF champions league after 4 match days, with catastrophic results, in their return to the competition after a 5-year wait.

Al-Hilal beat their counterparts Cotonsport (2-0) on Tuesday.

The goals of the match were scored by David Abagna at the 41st minute and Makabi Lilepo at the 83rd minute from the spot.

After the victory, Al-Hilal become the leaders of Group B with 9 points, ever-so-close to the quarter-finals, while Cotonsport have already been eliminated, with zero points.

The second match of the group will take place on Saturday March 11, between Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa) and Al-Ahly (Egypt).

It was a must win against Hilal on game day four but Cotonsport completely missed target in Sudan.

Deprived of Djawal Kaiba who was suspended for accumulation of yellow cards, the Elite One champions performed poorly and logically lost via a 2-0 score.

After 4 games, Coton have recorded 4 defeats, 10 goals conceded, including: 3 against Mamelodi Sundows, 3 against Al Ahly and 4 against Al Hilal in a delayed game day 1 encounter, with just two goals scored. Both the work of Patient Wassou.
