Manfred’s First Clean Sheet, Durell’s Overhead Kick Condemns Fauve Azur To First League Degeat Against YOSA

Bamenda outfit YOSA, dished out a first defeat to this year’s Elite One surprise package Fauve Azur Elite in their advanced match day 8 fixture in group B of the MTN Elite One, on Wednesday, Dec. 21.

Prior to the game, YOSA had picked up just one win in 7 games but that was to change, as the lads handed their gaffer – Franklin Anumewa, the perfect birthday present.

First off, it was Eric Embe, the man show-named ‘Erling Haaland’ who scored the game’s opener in the second half courtesy a trademark left-footed finish.

Stunned, Fauve Azur led by coach Essomba pushed forward to try and find an equaliser but Ekoi Manfred was marquee as the keeper searched for his first clean sheet of the season.

YOSA managed her game well and then stroke through Djibero Durell’s magical overhead kick when it mattered most, to grab all three points.

YOSA moves to the 8th position on 8 points in group B, while Fauve Azur maintain 2nd place with 13 points. Up next for YOSA is a home game against YAFOOT on Saturday Dec. 24.
