March FIFA Rankings: Cameroon Slides 9 Places Beneath

After poor performances in the month of March, the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon lost 9 places in the FIFA rankings.

With new players called up and untrodden euphoria produced at the start, the FIFA window was announced with some early ecstasy for the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon, with two matches in 4 days against Namibia.

Namibia were opponents that were far inferior on paper to Aboubakar Vincent and his teammates. Supporters quickly jacked back to reality after the draw (1-1) in Yaounde.

The entire continent awaited a roar from the Lions in Soweto 4 days later for the second leg. The forecasts did not go as planned again. The Lions were bamboozled by the Brave Warriors who in full confidence beat Cameroon 2-1.

Two below par performances made the country regress in the Fifa ranking. On the global level, Cameroon goes from 33rd to 42nd place. On the continental level, Cameroon is placed 7th.
