Mark O’ojong Settles In Vietnam

After some disturbing last few transfer windows, former Cameroon Intermediate lions captain, Mark Ojong, has signed a one year contract with Vietnamese top flight side Sōng Lam fc. The former Bamboutos midfielder recently put pen to paper in the deal that will see him defend the colours of the 10 times Vietnam champions.

The experience midfielder last played for Tunisian outfit, Avenir Soliman, as a first choice in the 2019-20 football season where he helped them finish in the top 4.

The former Yong Sport Academy man is expected to bring in his wealth of experience to Song Lam fc whose ambition is to conquer the league this season. He has played in all seven of the club’s pre season friendlies during which has helped them win four and draw 2.

The 2021-22 Vietnam championship gets underway on February 25th and will see Mark Ojong’s Song Lam play against Becamex fc in the opener.

With 10 major titles in total, SLNA are one of the most successful football clubs in Vietnam.

Mark Ojong is versatile, intelligent and solid on the ball. The 24 year old anticipates and stabilises the game with relative ease. These are all habits he has adopted from his long years of experience with clubs like Seattle Sounders fc and San Antonio in the US Major League Soccer.
