Mehdi Nafti: Former Levante Boss Appointed WAC Coach

Mehdi Nafti, 44, is officially the new coach of Wydad Casablanca. The 2004 African champion will lead the bench of the Reds at the Club World Cup (February 1-11, 2023).

The deal was completed on Monday January 2, 2023. Nafti ararives at a time when, WAC are second in the Botola Pro Inwi ranking with 18 points (5 wins, 3 draws and 1 loss).

The Reds are also involved in the group stage of the Champions League in Pool A alongside Petro Atlético of Angola, JS Kabylie of Algeria, and Congolese giants AS Vita Club.

The reigning Moroccan and African champions are also qualified for the Morocco-2023 Club World Cup billed for February 1-11.

Mehdi Nafti formerly worked in Spain since the start of his coaching career in 2016. He notably had a short stint at Levante in 2022
