Mfegue George: Asante Kotoko Rookie On Front Pages
Former Avion Academy man – Mfegue George was on target in Asante Kotoko’s friendly on Wednesday Nov. 3rd against Future Stars, plying in the Ghanaian inferior leagues.
In the friendly that kick – started at 3:00 pm at the
Adako Jachie Training Complex, Future Stars – against the run of play, took the lead at the 20th minute.
A Kotoko side that had no player who played in last weekend’s league opener, leveled up courtesy of Clinton Opoku’s strike, with a quarter of the game left.
The stage was then set for 24 – year – old Mfegue George to be an instant hit, and prolly a fan favorite, and boy! Did he grab the chance.
Mfegue George made it 2-1 for Asante Kotoko at the 85th minute and the friendly ended with Kotoko emerging victorious.
Former Fortuna man Etouga Mbella equally started the game and faired well.
Mfegue George and Etouga were absent from the call on match day one due to the fact that they both await a work permit.
Asante Kotoko play their second league game on Sunday at the celebrated Baba Yara Sports Stadium against Bechem United.
