Michaela Abam Leaves Dash In For Linkoping

Swedish outfit Linköping FC has recruited US born Cameroonian International Michaela Abam from Houston Dash in the NWSL (National Woman’s Soccer League).

Linkoping gained interest to and Michaela before Christmas and both parties had a dialogue, but for various reasons it didn’t fall into place until a breakthrough.

The team will benefit from her physique and technique in and around the opponent’s penalty area as well as her experience in international football, through games with both the Indomitable Lionesses and various leagues in Europe.

Abam is a little different in her playing style than the other forwards in the Linkoping squad and the move will provide more opportunities for changes, as per Andrée Jeglertz, head coach of Linköping FC.

25-year-old Michaela Abam most recently, played for Houston Dash, but she has also played in both the Spanish and French leagues for Real Betis and Paris FC.

“I’m extremely excited to begin this new journey at Linköping FC. I have high respect for the competitiveness and talent within the league. I’ve felt and had nothing but positive conversations with Andrée and look forward to being an integral part of the team!, said Michaela Abam after her unveiling.
