Moumi Ngamaleu Racially Attacked In Swiss

Young Boys winger has confirmed being racially denigrated in his side’s one – all draw, in the Swiss premier division, against Basel – on Wednesday.

The Cameroonian International wrote on his official handles: ‘Sad to see that they’re still people thinking this way’. The 5 – goal striker this term, voiced.

In the game proper, Basel fans (who equally have a fair share of Africans), aimed at Moumi Ngamaleu with some racial chants, supposedly to take out the 27-year-old from his game.

The tie eventually ended 1-1, as Young Boys’ early goal from Meschak Elia was later wiped out by Liam Millar. To crown it all, Ngamaleu missed a 55th minute penalty that would have ultimately won his team all three points.

Young Boys are on 29 points after 17 match days, with Basel having 3 more points, and playing catch up at the moment, to first placed FC Zurich.

FIFA and UEFA are stern about their stands on the racists in the beautiful game, but it turns out more than written messages on banners will be needed to eradicate it.
