MTN Elite One: Results, Goal Scorers & Golden Boot Race After Match Day 8

Match day 8 of the MTN Elite One Championship was a thorough halloween for some top clubs, as it led to the departure of coaches and the end of Canon’s winning streak.

For fans of the beautiful game though, it was enthralling with 24 goals scored in 12 games across two groups and four playing sites.

Fortuna picked TKC apart with the most goals scored on the match day (5), to bring their 2-game winless run to an end.

Axel Ndzana scored his fourth goal of the season to help Anicet Mbarga’s team to a 4-2 win over Panthere FC.

Eding Sports was held by a resolute OFTA of Kribi, who gave been given the nickname of (specialists in draw games).

Djiko’s loss to Colombe meant Clement Arroga had to step down immediately after the game, claiming he wanted to keep friendship ties with the club’s administration, rather than puncture it!

PWD only had themselves to blame as UMS came from behind to equalise through 2 late goals from Momaso.

There was no victor in the games that pitted YAFOOT/Bamboutos, Avion Renaissance, and Fauve Azure/Stade Renard, as all ended in draws. Benjamin mongo will step in as head coach of Renaissance, replacing Jean Claude Bitimo.

Three players scored a brace on the match day; Aboubakar Mohamed, Momaso, Wassou Goue, Djawal Kaiba and Kevin Mfede.
