Ngadeu & Gent Into The Conference League Quarter-final

Gent defeated Istanbul Basaksehir 5-2 on aggregate to make it through to the quarter-final of the UEFA conference league.

In the UEFA Conference League on Wednesday, Michael Ngadeu and the Gent went and picked up a win in Istanbul against Başakşehir. The match counted for the round of 16 second leg of the competition. In the first leg, the two clubs had separated on a parity score of 1-1.

Forward Gift Orban was in every lead after he scored the fastest hat-trick for Gent as they won 4-1 against Turkish Süper Lig opponents Istanbul Basaksehir in their Round of 16 clash on Wednesday.

The win ended Gent’s run of seven matches in Europe away from home without a victory to breeze into the last eight of the Europa Conference League.

The 20-year-old Nigerian striker scored three goals in three minutes to take his goals tally to five goals in five Europa Conference League matches

The new signing slotted home his first of the evening in the 31st minute from close range and added the second a minute later, before firing a long-range right-footed strike beyond goalkeeper Volkan Babacan in the 34th minute.

Gent, not content with relying on Orban’s heroics, added a fourth just before the half-time whistle, with strike partner Hugo Cuypers, heading home from Sven Kums’ cross.

Ngadeu and co will welcome Eupen in the Guinness Super league where they are ranked 5th with 48 points.
