Ngamaleu returns from injury with an assist
After a long absence due to an ankle injury, Moumi Ngamaleu made his much anticipated comeback on Sunday, September 22, 2024 during the derby between Dynamo Moscow and Spartak Moscow, on the occasion of the 9th day of the Russian Premier League.
Injured on August 17, the Cameroonian winger had not set foot on the green turf for several weeks, missing 7 matches with his club.
Lined up from the start for his return, it only took Ngamaleu three minutes to remind everyone of his importance within the Dynamo squad. On a quick transition, he delivered an assist that allowed his team to open the scoring, illustrating his keen sense of creativity and his role in the Moscow attack.
Unfortunately for Dynamo, the opening goal was not enough to seal victory.
Spartak Moscow responded by coming back into the game, then taking the lead. However, Dynamo snatched a draw at the very end of the match (2-2), allowing the team to save a point in the fierce derby.
The return of Moumi Ngamaleu marks an important step after his convalescence period. For Dynamo Moscow, his return is a real breath of fresh air, as his offensive influence is crucial.
Ngamaleu is available for selection with the Indomitable Lions next month, which comes as some good news for coach Marc Brys.
