Official: Petrus Boumal Switches To Nizhny Novgorod

As reported earlier on, Cameroonian midfielder Petrus Boumal (28) has joined FK Nizhny Novgorod, a first division club in Russia for a period of one season and and an option to extend.

The attacking midfeilder had the possibility of returning to Spain at (Sevilla FC, or Villareal), plus, some Turkish clubs including; Göztepe, that courted him, but the former Sochaux man preferred to commit for one season with FK Nizhny Novgorod.

After leaving France in 2014, Boumal played for three seasons in Bulgaria, notably with Litex Lovetch and CSKa Sofia.

The 28 – year old’s choice is influenced by the city and the club’s project, without leaving out the big wallet included in the deal.

The Cameroon international will bring his strong experience and technical abilities to the midfield and could possibly take the front – line role in the club this campaign.

Nizhny are currently placed 9th on the Russian Premier League with a total of 8 points from 6 games.
