Olympic Q: Randy Waldrum names strong Falcons squad to pit Cameroon in round 3
Super Falcons head coach, Randy Waldrum has unveiled a 21-player roster for the side’s 2024 Olympic Games third qualifying round fixture against Cameroon.
Waldrum is returning to the dugout for the first time since leading the Super Falcons to the Round of 16 at last year’s 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
A number of players are also making a return to the squad since that competition.
Ashleigh Plumptre, Osinachi Ohale and Halimatu Ayomide last appeared for the Super Falcons in the Round of 16 defeat to the Three Lionesses of England.
Regulars like Asisat Oshoala, Chiamaka Nnadozie, Rasheedat Ajibade, Michelle Alozie and Toni Payne are all included in the squad.
The nine-time African champions will face Cameroon in the first leg at the Stade de la Reunification in Douala, Cameroon, on Friday 23rd February.
The second leg match will place at the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja on Monday 26th February.
