Onana To Join Ajax First Team Tomorrow

Two months before the end of his doping suspension, Andre Onana has been authorized to resume training with Ajax from September 4.

Suspended till November 4 after a positive control of Furosemide in the keepers body, Andre Onana has finally seen some light at the end of the tunnel.

In a statement released on Thursday, Ajax announced that the Cameroonian goalkeeper will be able to resume training from September 4.

The judgment came from the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) authorizing the player to return to the training ground two months before the end of his suspension.

“We have decided that Andre will resume goalkeeping and collective sessions with the senior team,” Marc Overmars, director of football, aired to the club’s website. The question, for now, is whether he will regain a place in the first team in the longer term.
We moved forward without him and signed two goalies during his suspension and the team has already started their season.

Onana will be free to sign for any club of his choice once he is a free agent come January.
