Our Remaining Games At Home Are Crucial – Herve Ngomo

Cotonsport center — half Herve Ngomo has admitted that the Cotonites will need maximum points at home if they want to replicate last season’s run in the CAF Confederations Cup.

The 26 year old EX Panthere defender was the lone goal scorer in Cotonsport’s visit in Congo that lasted for over a week, as they played against Otoho and TP Mazembe, but returned just with a point.

Ngomo who is enjoying his second spell at the club is now an undisputed starter, after he was a watchman for most parts of last season, acting as back up for Etame Ngombe, and Banga Bindjeme.

‘The visit to Congo wasn’t all that positive, because we went in search for victories but we picked up just one point in possible 6. Our objective was to get at least 4 out of 6 points.

‘We have two home matches. We will prepare to get the crucial wins,’ a confident Ngomo stated.

Herve Ngomo believes that if the Championship had resumed earlier, Cotonsport wouldn’t have faced as much difficulties.

‘We have a young side and always try to get extra motivation as our championship is still to commence. But we will try to give in our best for qualification to the next round.

Herve Ngomo has scored Cotonsport’s only goal in group C of this year’s CAF Confederation Cup. Cotonsport are last in group C, and so, games against Al Masry and Mazembe on March 13 and 20 will be an exceptional for neutrals.
