Patrice Motsepe oversees creation of ACA, YANGA’s Hersi A. Said elected president

Responding to the need for a unified voice for professional football clubs across Africa, CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe has spearheaded the formation of the African Club Association (ACA), in Cairo, Egypt.

This landmark decision marks a significant step towards empowering clubs and ensuring their greater involvement in shaping the future of African football. The ACA inaugural meeting was chaired by Dr Motsepe.

Previously, African clubs lacked a cohesive platform to advocate for their interests and participate in decision-making processes.

The ACA aims to address this by providing a structured forum for clubs to collaborate, share resources, and collectively represent their needs to CAF and other stakeholders.

During the launch a new leadership of the organisation was formed, with Young Africans President, Hersi A. Said, elected as the inaugural Chairman of the ACA.

He will serve with two deputies: Jessica Motaung from Kaizer Chiefs (South Africa) and Nigeria’s Paul Bassey from Akwa United.
