PFL Africa Semifinals: Alain Majorique Shines Amid Cameroonian Setbacks

The Professional Fighters League (PFL) Africa semifinals, held on October 18, 2025, in Kigali, Rwanda, delivered both triumph and heartbreak for Cameroonian fighters. While Alain Majorique continued his impressive rise with another dominant performance, his compatriots Maxwell Djantou Nana, Octave Ayinda, Emilios Dassi, and Emmanuel Mukam all fell short in their respective bouts.
In the featherweight division, Alain Majorique, nicknamed the African Assassin, showcased his trademark precision and composure to defeat Guinea’s Mohamed Camara by unanimous decision (30–27, 30–27, 29–28). His mix of sharp striking, timely takedowns, and solid ground control secured his place in the upcoming PFL Africa Featherweight Championship Final, scheduled later this year in Benin.
The night was far less fortunate for the other Cameroonians. Heavyweight contender Maxwell Djantou Nana battled Justin Clarke in a grueling contest but eventually succumbed to a verbal submission from strikes in the third round. In the welterweight category, Octave Ayinda was stopped by Shido Boris Esperança via first-round TKO, while Emilios Dassi lost a close three-round decision to Yabna N’tchala. The evening ended on a sour note for Emmanuel Mukam, who was caught early by a devastating head kick from Abdoullah Kane, suffering a knockout just 23 seconds into the first round.
Despite the mixed outcomes, Alain Majorique shall take on Nigeria’s Wasi Adeshina in the finals in December Benin.
