Pre AFCON Friendlies: Zimbabwe To Take On Sudan In Cameroon

The Warriors of Zimbabwe are in town (Yaounde, Cameroon) and have their sight on further preparing for the AFCON that comes up in few days.

The delegation arrived on December 30th and will pit Sudan in a friendly, come January 2nd.

Sudan, themselves, have been in Cameroon for three days, doting their ‘I’s’ and cutting the ‘T’s’, ahead of what looks a difficult AFCON return, after four years.

Sudan lost to Ethiopia (3-2) in a friendly that was played on Thursday December 30.

All these, amid pending pressure on Zimbabwe from FIFA. The Zimbabwe government’s Sports and Recreation Commission (SRC) suspended the ZIFA board on November 16.

FIFA has insisted that, The Zimbabwe Football Association (Zifa) has until January 3 to regain control of the sport, or face a ban from international football.

However, talking to sportsglitz.net, a member of the Zimbabwe delegation aired: ‘I feel FIFA is understanding the issue, and we will not receive a ban of any sort’.
