Pre World Cup friendlies: Cameroon and Zambia tie for nothing

Zambia and Cameroon played out to a 1-1 draw in a friendly match on Tuesday.

The two African powerhouses went head to head at Jeddah’s King Abdullah Sports City in Saudi Arabia.

Leicester City Football Club forward Patson Daka continued with his impressive form for both club and country.

The 25 year old gave the 2012 African Champions a lead in 11th minute but Darlin Yongwa Ngameni levelled for the Indomitable Lions of Yaounde nine minutes later.

Yongwa was utilized in a slightly advanced role with Tolo covering at the back and it paid dividends for Rigobert Song’s team.

Zambia coach Avram Grant started with Lawrence Mulenga in goal while Tandi Mwape, Stopilla Sunzu, Frankie Musonda and Zephaniah Phiri made up the back four.

Kelvin Kapumbu returned to the side after an injury layoff alongside Golden Mafweta and Rally Bwalya.

Upfront Daka was joined by Fashion Sakala and Edward Chilufya.

Rigobert Song started with Ondoa in goal. Moukoudi and Wooh occupied the central half position, while Casteletto was pushed to the right. Tolo played behind Yongwa, and Moumi Ngamaleu ahead of Casteletto. Anguissa, Ntcham, Kemen and Zambo played as a midfeild trio behind Vincent Aboubakar.

After the break, Song made a number of changees, bringing in; Magri, Neyou, Gonzalez, Tchamadeu, Moumbagna, Elliot and Enzo Tchato.

Cameroon left Saudi for Cote D’Ivoire immediately after the game. The Indomitable Lions Lions are placed in pool C of the AFCON that includes: Guinea, Gambia and Senegal.
