The first five places are occupied by Argentina, France (vice-champion), Croatia (winner of the third place final), Morocco (first African country to reach a semi-final in the history of the World Cup) and other Countries – eliminated in the quarter-finals.

The second best seed for an African team at the World Cup is occupied by Senegal (10th position in the general classification). Cameroon meanwhile is ranked 19th behind Germany (17th) and Uruguay (18th).

Housed in group G, the Indomitable Lions were eliminated in the group stage of the competition. Rigobert Song’s men finished third in their group with 4 points. Their victory against group leaders Brazil (1-0), was not enough to qualify for the round of 16s.
