Qatar 2022: Cameroon’s Ntcham Out, But Teammates Can Bring Him Back

Multiple reports suggests that midfeilder Olivier Ntcham is out of the World Cup group phase and can only play the next round if Cameroon qualifiers out of group G.

Olivier Ntcham was hugely part of coach Rigobert Song’s plan prior to the game against Switzerland but the Man. City Academy graduate couldn’t play Cameroon’s opener due to a slight ankle injury.

He hasn’t been training with the group in the Indomitable Lions’ last warm up sessions, and still trained alone on Friday Nov. 26 with a member of staff of the team. It could then be that the 26-year-old’s tournament has become peripheral especially as the Indomitable Lions are not tipped to make the next round of the World Cup.

Cameroon lost its opening group G game of the World Cup via a one-nil margin against Switzerland and the game was crying out for the creativity of Ntcham, who unfortunately was sat on the stands.

Ntcham came to the Indomitable Lions camp as one of the midfeilders Rigobert Song heavily relied on, and for good measure, as the Swansea midfeilder scored 5 goals and dished out two assists in the English championship before the World Cup break.
