Qatar 2022: Group G Favorites Brazil, Release Squad

Brazilian coach Tite, announced on Monday his list of 26 players who will play the World Cup in Qatar (November 20 to December 18). Roberto Firmino and Marseille midfielder Gerson are absent, with Dani Alves, currently playing in Mexico (UNAM Pumas), getting the nod alongside Neymar, Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Martinelli and Lucas Paqueta.

Dani Alves (39, UNAM Pumas), who has not played for two months, has been called up for the Selecao.

The only notable absentee is Roberto Firmino, left behind in favor of Gunner Gabriel Jesus, recalled after being absent from the last camp of the Selecao.

In form with Arsenal since the start of the season, Gabriel Martinelli was called up by Tite.

Having had a knock on his shoulder, Lucas Paqueta, who was announced uncertain for the World Cup, will finally make the trip. Regulars: Neymar and Marquinhos make the list unperturbed.

Brazil, who are currently at the top of the FIFA rankings and are among the big favourites, will also face Switzerland (November 28) then Cameroon (December 2) in the group stage.

The Seleçao qualified on a high note, finishing top of the South America zone without losing a single game, with only five goals conceded in 17 games. Twenty years after its last coronation in Japan, Brazil hopes to add a sixth star to its coat of arms.
