Qatar 2022: Kudos Brace Helps Him To Africa’s 5th MOTM Award

Though under duress, Ghana won their game against South Korea (3-2) in the 2nd day of Group H at the 22nd edition of the Qatar World Cup. Mo. Kudos was rewarded as the 5th African player to win the Man of the match award after: Aïssa Aidouni, Boulaye Dia, Vincent Aboubakar and Hakim Ziyech.

One name stands out in Ghana’s win against South Korea and its none other than Mo Kudus.

Cho Gue-sung (South Korea) and Mohammed Kudus of Ghana each scored twice in the match pitting South Korea against Ghana on Monday but what caught the eye was the performance of the Ghanaian who almost singlehandedly led his side to victory.

After an assist for André Ayew against Portugal on the opening day, the left-sided attacking midfielder of Ajax Amsterdam was a real revelation in the game against Korea with an unprecedented double that speared Ghana to victory.

He scored his first goal with a header at the 34th minute and the second with a curling left-footed attempt at the 68th minute.

The 22-year-old Ajax player now totals seven goals in 20 selections.
