Qatar 2022: Neymar To Miss Brazil’s Final Group Game Against Cameroon

Out injured on Thursday evening due to a sprained right ankle in Brazil’s opener at this year’s world cup against Serbia, Neymar is set to miss the next two games group games.

It is a big blow for the Brazilian striker who can only make a return in the round of 16.

Despite the Seleçao’s convincing 2-0 victory against Serbia on Thursday evening in its first game at the World Cup, Brazil has lost a number of players to injury, and Neymar has now joined the queue.

The PSG star had a hand in Brazil’s two goals scored against Serbia, starting the moves.

Asked at a press conference after the game against Serbia, Tite said “Neymar was clipped during the match, but he decided to continue playing to help the team for eleven more minutes, it’s phenomenal […] I didn’t see that he was injured.

‘It is on the action of the second goal that we saw that he felt the injury. That’s when I realized it. He has this ability to hide that, ”says the Brazilian coach.

Despite this physical glitch for the PSG star, Tite ensures that Neymar is not completely ruled out and he remains amongst his teammates: “We are confident. He will continue the World Cup. I repeat: he will continue to play the World Cup,’ Tite added.

Brazil’s despair is Cameroon and Switzerland’s relief. Brazil will face Switzerland on Monday Nov. 28 and play against Cameroon four days later.
