Qatar 2022: Poland, Mexico Fail To Take Advantage Of Argentina’s Slip

Mexico and Poland separated goalless in their first game of the Qatar 2022 World Cup. Poland will undoubtedly the team of the two nations that will feel hard done by with a penalty missed by Lewandowski.

Neither team really benefited from the misplaced step of Argentina – who lost by surprise against Saudi Arabia at the start of the afternoon. Mexico and Poland, hoped to seize the opportunity to stick behind the Saudi team at the top of the classification of their Group C, but it was not the case.

After a foul on Robert Lewandowski, the latter obtained a penalty shortly before the hour mark. The FC Barcelona striker however failed to beat Guillermo Ochoa as the legendary shot stopper went right and saved.

Robert Lewandowski is still looking for his first goal in a World Cup, while the draw will represent big disappointments for the Polish side.

On the side of the El Tri, the performance did not fully convince either.
