Qatar 2022: Vincent Aboubakar’s Goal Of The Tournament Contender Wins Him A MOTM Award

A solid second half performance graced by a goal and an assist, saw Vincent Aboubakar crowned Man of the match in Cameroon’s three-all tie against Serbia on Monday. Aboubakar follows the likes of: Ziyech, Boulaye Dia and Aïssa Aidouni, as he becomes the fourth African player to win a Man Of the Match Award in this finals.

Football pundits world wide have acclaimed the genius of Aboubakar who had the calmness and presence of mind to fake the shot, check inside and just delightfully chip goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic, caught in no man’s land. The goal is right up there with Richarlison’s bicycle kick – still against Serbia.

Vincent Aboubakar became the first African player (since 1966) to both score and assist as a substitute in a World Cup game.
