Road To Qatar: Choupo Moting Expected In Camp Ahead Of Cote D’Ivoire Clash

Bayern star Eric Maxime Choupo Moting is awaited in the Lions’ den this afternoon, sportsglitz.net has learned.

After Cameroon’s four – nil win on match day 5 of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers, the Indomitable Lions arrived Douala on Saturday night to start preparations for their final Group D game against Cote D’Ivoire.

After their win on Saturday afternoon against Malawi on the occasion of the 5th day of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers, the Indomitable Lions have already returned to the city of Douala to prepare for the Group D final against the Ivory Coast. A training session is scheduled for the evening (7 p.m.) at the Japoma stadium annex.

Choupo who is Cameroon’s top scorer (2), only level on goals with Micheal Ngadeu, didn’t play the first leg at the Stade Olympique D’ebimpé due to the gaffer’s decision.

Eric-Maxim Choupo Moting wasn’t available against Malawi but he is expected to arrive later this Sunday, November 14, after serving a one-week quarantine having contracted Coronavirus through one of his teammates at Bayern Munich.

A training session for the Lions is scheduled for Sunday evening at the Japoma stadium annex.

The Cameroon-Ivory Coast match is scheduled for Tuesday from 8 p.m. at the Japoma Stadium.

Cameroon will have to win the game to snatch the only ticket from the group D, to the play-offs. Cote D’Ivoire easily defeated Mozambique on Saturday (3-0) and are looking for a draw to see them through.
