Russia – Ukraine Unrest: Ze Lamkel Set To Leave Khimki

Lamkel Zé is set to leave Russia back to Belgium due to the Russia – Ukraine crisis, currently having a tool on foreigners plying in Russia.

The 25 year old Cameroonian, who is still a player of Antwerp, is opting to have his contract terminated with his Russian club FK Khimki.

“When I’m back in Antwerp, we’ll look at the offers,” Lamkel Zé has shared via Instagram.

On Saturday morning, Lamkel Ze, 25, playing around with some teammates, went live via his Instagram account.

On Instagram, he explained his plan: “The situation here is quite difficult at the moment. Everything has started to close here. I will probably leave Russia.”

Lamkel Zé’s lease in Khimki runs until the end of this season, but due to the exceptional war situation in Russia and Ukraine, FIFA has decided that foreign players will unilaterally suspend their contracts from March 10 until June 30, 2022.

If it is up to Lamkel, he is planning to take the option of quitting.

The latter has opined that since the war broke out and the major Western companies have left Russia one by one, he began to think of packing his bags as well.

The more so because he also experienced financial problems. With the Russian banks being thrown out of the international payment system, Ze as he explained, can no longer transfer his salary to Europe or his family in Cameroon.

“After tomorrow’s game (Sunday, Khimki will play a home match against Sochi…) I will leave here.

‘Sven Jaecques (general manager of Antwerp,) is aware. I am going back to Antwerp.’

‘I will look at the offers there. Hopefully I can find an agreement with a club. I don’t know yet whether that is with a Belgian club.’ Ze concluded.

Lamkel ze has scored two in two for Khimki since joining in from DAC Dunajská Streda in January.
