Sacha Boey’s Galatasaray Ousted From Europa League By Barca

French Born national of Cameroon descend, Sacha Boey, played 90 minutes in his side’s 2-1 defeat to Barcelona on Thursday, March 17.

Boey, who most recently got pre-selected by the Indomitable Lions before getting dropped in the final list to pit Algeria in the WC qualifiers, had quite a game.

Barcelona came from a goal down to beat Galatasaray 2-1 and therefore advanced to the quarterfinals of the Europa League.

The Catalans came into the round of 16 second leg level on aggregate after a 0-0 draw in the first leg at the Camp Nou on March 10, before sealing passage with the win in Istanbul.

21 year old Boey and teammates took the lead shortly before the half-hour through Marcao, but Pedri finished off a nice team move by Barca with a lovely display of individual skill to draw his team level before the break.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang put Barca ahead three minutes into the second half with a close-range header after two magnificent stops by Galatasaray goalkeeper Inaki Pena, who is on loan from the Spanish club.

Sacha Boey played 6 games in the competition and scored once for the Turkish giants, before their exit.
