Sad Day In The Den: Jean Charles Castelleto Loses Dad

At the Lions presser held today in Yaounde, Cameroon, captain Vincent Aboubakar announced the death of the father of Lions’ defender, Jean Charles Castelleto.

Skipper Vincent Aboubakar on behalf of the entire team, wished sincere condolences to the Nantes sweeper.

Defender Jean Charles Castelleto was set to fight for a starters role in Antonio Conceiçao’s team after having missed the camp in September against Malawi and Cote D’Ivoire, before returning in October.

Castelleto, 26, however sat it out as an unused sub in the double confrontation against Mozambique, and didn’t play as Ngadeu and Moukoudi were preferred at the back.

With Kunde and Moting declared completely out of the game that comes up on November 13, it is difficult to see Castelleto breaking past the psychological barrier to play against Malawi.

Usually preferred center – half starter – Harold Moukoudi didn’t make the ongoing camp due to injury. This leaves Antonio Conceiçao in a difficult position, having to do only with just; Jean Claude Bilong, Onguene and Ngadeu.
