Salah Wide, Aboubakar Leads Attack In IFFHS Men’s CAF 2022 Team
Indomitable Lions skipper Vincent Aboubakar is the only Cameroonian included in the International Federation of Football History & Statistics CAF team of 2022.
The 30 year old Indomitable Lions striker had a blistering year with some vital goals for club and country which has earned him yet another personal accolade.
Vincent Aboubakar won the golden boot at last year’s TotalEnergies AFCON with 8 goals scored. He later scored 2 goals in the World Cup including that famous header that won Cameroon the game against Brazil.
Aboubakar has faired okay for Saudi club Al Nassr who are top of the league. Despite rumours linking the EX Cotonsport forward elsewhere upon Ronaldo’s arrival, his club reportedly want him around. He scored 14 goals and dished out 3 assists for club and country in 2022.
Aboubakar spears the attack and he is accompanied by Sadio Mane on the left, and Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah on the right.
The midfeild trio is made up of Azzedine Ounahi, Mohamed Kudus and Sofyan Amrabat.
The back-line is marshalled by Romain Saiss and Kalidou Koulibaly. Al Ahli’s Ali Malloul occupies the left, and Achraf Hakimi, the right side of defence. No doubt that Yassine Bounou is the man in-between the sticks. The team is dominated by 5 Moroccan players courtesy of the Atlas Lions’ semi-finals run in the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
