Saudi Kings Cup: Leandre Tawamba Sees Double In Taawon’s Victory Over Al Ta’ee

19 days to the AFCON finals, Lions forward, Leandre Tawamba has scored a double in round 16 of the Kings Cup, against Al Ta’ee.

Tawamba bagged a brace to send Tawooun through to the next round, as it ended 3-2 on the night.

As good as the scoreline read at full time, Tawamba and co had to come from behind, with the forward leading the resurgence.

Having gone two – down, through goals from Ta’ee’s Brazilian forward; Gomes Clemente and Al Johani, Tawamba nicked one back at the 66th minute to half deficit.

An 82nd minute goal from Aljandro Romero, sent the game to absolute parity, before Tawamba won it late (90+2).

Quite some time to get in – form as the latter is listed in Cameroon’s provisional squad of 40 players.

The cup brace coupled with his 9 goals in the Saudi professional league, means Tawamba has accumulated 11 goals in all competitions so far.

The former USD striker played games in Cameroon’s WC qualifiers against Malawi and Cote D’Ivoire, and like 39 others in Cameroon’s provisional list, he has a good argument to be part of the 28 selected, for the AFCON proper.
