Scouts Wowed At the Chedjou Sports Consulting Tourney Opener

The Chedjou Sports Consulting tourney kick-started in scintillating fashion this Wednesday, April 5th with multiple scouts in-and-around Africa and Europe in attendance.

The second edition of the tournament initiated by the former indomitable lion Aurélien Chedjou started at 9:00 am (breakfast time) at the Bonamoussadi annex stadium.

Tournament regulars Oyili FC and Galactic FA inaugurated the second edition. Yaounde-based outfit Oyili FC outsmarted their Littoral counterparts Galactic FA one-nil.

Prior to the first blast of the whistle, kick-off was given by Aurélien Chedjou, promoter of the CSC Tournament, in the presence of several scouts from France (Lille, Marseille) Spain (Cadiz), and the City group with branches in Asia, US, Spain and England.

In subsequent games that followed after kick-off, cup holders EFBC faced Real Academy in a fearce littoral derby, which saw EFBC defeat Real Academy courtesy of goals from Minkoulou Nkodo and Tjabe Bija.

Arthur Essobe’s lone strike gifted debutants All Stars a slender one-nil win over fellow tournament newbies, AS Poelsa. In the last game of the day, AS Nylon leapfrogged KSA 1-0. The lone goal of game four was scored by Franck Njinga.

The multiple scouts in attendance were delighted by the quality of football displayed by teenagers. A special guest invited was Lille’s Director of Football, Franck Beria who was utterly pleased.

Question: You are in Cameroon for this tournament, what is your objective?

Answer

I am delighted to have been invited by Aurélien. It is a tournament in which I see that there is a lot of talent. The objective of our recruiters who are present, was to be able to quickly identify talents who can integrate the clubs and we know that Cameroon has the reputation on its land of having huge talents. That’s why we’re here today. The expectations are to see good matches and above all profiles that have quality and there are some we spotted already.

Question: You have just experienced the first games of this competition, what is your impression?

Answer

I feel good. What I appreciate is that I see a lot of commitment, like all the people who are here, the desire to be able to demonstrate everything we know how to do. I think there was a lot of stress at the start, you want to do well, you want to be good and that sometimes comes with a little bit of stress and awkwardness, but as the game progress , we feel that there is more and more ease, there is more connection and moreover, I find that the boys are freeing themselves. I think the second, third game, the days to come are going to be even better. I’m thrilled for the engagement. I saw aggression in a good way. It’s not about hurting the opponent, it’s about being a good footballer and as a former defender I particularly appreciate the commitment the boys show. There is a lot of honesty in their efforts, the conditions are very special because in Europe there is no heat but I appreciate it.

Question: Is there a particular profile you are looking for?

Answer:
There are profiles that we are looking for, it depends on the moment because the needs evolve in a professional club and they evolve from one month to another depending also on the transfer window. There are already some profiles that are interesting.

The second edition of the tournament continues at the annex stadium of Bonamoussadi on Thursday April 6th with four games.
