Seidou Mbombo Njoya Appointed Senator

Seasoned sports administrator and former president of the Cameroonian Football Federation (FECAFOOT), Seidou Mbombo Njoya, is one of the 30 senators appointed on Friday by President Paul Biya.

Seidou Mbombo Njoya, 61, will now have to multitask, with yet another designation from Cameroon’s head of state. The Confederation of African Football (CAF) Fourth Vice President is one of three appointed senators from the West region for a term of five years.

Son of the late Sultan Ibrahim Mbombo Njoya, Seidou is following in his father’s footsteps.

Between 2018 and 2021, he had the top football job just like his father in the early 1960s.

During his lifetime, King Bamoun Ibrahim was an influential member of the central committee and the political office of the UNC until the change of name to the CPDM under president Paul Biya.
