Solid “Ngolo” scores, assists twice, bags man of the match award in Sohar SC’s 5-2 win!

He is flying without perching in the Omani premier league. Defensive midfielders are often noted for doing the “rough job” and earning a living. But former intermediate lions Midfielder, Mofema Nathaniel Nangolo, is fast changing the dynamics.

Since his arrival at Sohar SC in the Omani premier league this season, Nath has been more than impressive and decisive. He has played every single minute of his team’s games since he arrived.

Yesterday, the Buea town native was on fire as he scored Sohar’s first goal of the night before providing two assists to clinch the man of the match award in his team’s 5-2 home win over Nizwa club. It was match day 24.

The goal was glorious!

“Ngolo” took the ball from the median, rolled it twice before ejecting the bullet from the same spot. The leather object staggered on the roof of the net and left the goalkeeper down scratching. It was only the sign of many more good things to come on the night for Nath.

“I always wanted to score this kind of goal. I remember it was a similar attempt I made when we (intermediate lions) played a friendly against Chad in Yaounde prior to the CHAN.

“It felt so good to finally score the goal of my dream”, an excited Mofema said after the game.

After making life unbearable for his opposite numbers in the middle of the pack, Mofema Nathaniel Nangolo, went on to provide two decisive passes for his team’s last two goals. it was his 5th league goal in the current season. The impressive win takes Sohar SC to the 7th spot with two more games to go.

“Ngolo’s” solid first league campaign in Oman has attracted several clubs scrambling for his signature. But Sohar have rejected transfer requests and have said the Cameroonian still has an integral part to play in their project next season.

The former Eding fc man has had a stint in Zambia, notably at Kabwe Warriors FC and Nkana FC, before returning to Cameroon where he accepted the challenge of LIFCA (Limbé Football Club Association)

The strong midfielder can also play as a central defender or as a right back.
