Stéphane Noumbissie: Former Njalla Quan trainee joins Lille via Dauphine
After a long period of monitoring, LOSC Lille officially announced on Wednesday the arrival of defender, Stéphane Noumbissie, formerly of the Njalla Quan sports Academy.
The 18-year-old made the switch from Dauphine Academy to the Four-time French Ligue 1 winners.
A complete Cameroon youth international after having gone through the U17, U20 and U23 set-ups, Noumbissie signed with the Club until 2029 but will begin with Lille’s reserves (Lille Pro 2) before climbing the ranks.
Stéphane Aris Noumbissie is a promising, versatile defender, capable of playing in the center-back as well as a fullback.
With a massive height of 1m90, the youngster made a mark during the last U17 Africa Cup of Nations in May 2023.
Before his move became official, the left footer who was courted by several European clubs, was already presented as a top potential in the country.
Lille’s long list of Cameroonian players have most often than not – lived up to the hype, something the youngster hopes to follow.
“I am happy to join LOSC, an Elite French side. Professional football has always been my dream, and I am glad it is happening now. My first objective is to adapt quickly, and bring something extra to the club”. Noumbissie said on his unveiling.
Stéphane Noumbissie is in good company as he joins the likes of some top Cameroonian talents to have donned the Lille uniform: Makoun, Chedjou Aurélien, Jean Onana, and most recently, Carlos Baleba.
