Sundowns Ladies clinch Women’s Champions League with 3-0 win over SC. Casablanca
Mamelodi Sundowns are champions of Africa again after the women’s side cruised to a 3-0 victory against Sporting Club Casablanca in the final of the CAF Women’s Champions League.
A brace from Refilwe Tholakele and a strike from Boitumelo Rabale were enough as the South African giants reclaimed the title they lost to AS FAR last year.
Sundowns Ladies came into the tournament with the objective of winning the competition for a second time, being the inaugural winners after defeating Ghana’s Hasaacas Ladies.
Sundowns got off to a bright start after Tholakele converted from the spot in the 21st minute of the game following a dominant display.
Three minutes later, the South African giants doubled their lead through Rabale to give the Brazilians the advantage before the break.
Thoakele then sealed victory with her second goal deep into the second half.
Sundowns football have been to the final in all three outings, exerting their dominance in women’s football. Meanwhile, AS FAR defeated Ampem Darkoa Ladies of Ghana to clinch third place in Ivory Coast.
