SWR Mini Interpools: ISOSHA Eliminates Bright Stars, Qualifies For Semis.

ISOSHA have eliminated Bright Stars of Kumba 2-0 in the third quarter final match of te South West Regional mini interpools.

Brandon Babo and Albert Tiku scored the two goals for the Limbe Base side, as they qualified for their first ever semi final.

ISOSHA is making a second consecutive appearance at the playoffs as they finished top of Group C, while Bright Stars are making their debut in the competition.

ISOSHA were eliminated in the quarter-finals last season by Best Stars Academy of Limbe – and will be hoping to go one step further to be champions of the Region.

Bright Stars is the only newly promoted club to make it into the playoffs – and the second after Aljazeera in the last four years.

Two teams with good play styles this season, but the slippery nature of the Molyko Omnisport Stadium will not allow free-flow passing football.

On paper, ISOSHA looked like the favourite for the tie but Bright Stars showed no inferiority complex as they had more chances in the first 20 minutes.

Belking Zemenjou who has nine goals to his name was a threat to the ISOSHA defence as he had a series of chances to score his 10th goal of the season.

ISOSHA had their chance to open the score – 10 minutes to halftime but Bradon Babo missed a chance to score his seventh of the season but his shot went over the crossbar as it ended goalless at halftime.

ISOSHA we’re the better side in the first 10 minutes of the second half as Bradon Babo’s header hit the post.

In the 51st minute, ISOSHA got the opening goal of the game with skipper, Brandon Babo scoring his seventh goal of the season to put the Limbe Base side in front.

Substitute for Bright Stars became a threat at the left flank but his efforts to cause damage to the ISOSHA defence but not avail.

Albert Tiku will then score his fourth goal of the season to double the lead of the Limbe base side. The goal looked controversial by fans in the stands after arguing that the long range shot had not crossed the line but the centre referee validated the goal after consulting her first assistant referee.

Belking Zemenjou had a chance to put Bright Stats within one but shot was blocked for a corner.

Not a bad news for coach Nlend Emile as one of his key midfielders Wilson Joseph was substituted after sustaining a hamstring injury. He was replaced by Chi Alex.

Bright Stars had chances to get something from the game but squandered them as their fairy tale campaign finally came to an end.
