Tabekou Leaves Lierse Kempenzonen With Immediately Effect

Initially linked to Belgian second division club Lierse Kempenzonen until June 2023, Cameroonian international Serge Tabekou and the club have mutually terminated the contract.

Tabekou joined Lierse Kempenzonen last summer. The striker was supposed to last at the Belgium second division club until June 2023. However, the 26-year-old opted for an adventure abroad. The former Apejes forward scored seven goals and dished out five assists in 25 matches in all competitions.

“Serge Tabekou opts for an adventure abroad with immediate effect, which our club did not want to oppose”, communicated the club. “With seven matches to go, this is the perfect opportunity to give other players a chance and give them minutes of play.”

The player with five caps with the indomitable Lions made his professional debut with AA Gent in 2015. He then played for OH Leuven, Union and Mouscron. Last season, Hainauts loaned him from FK Manisa, a Turkish second division club.
