Tawamba’s Delightful Chip Helps Taawoun Beat Duhail

Leandre Tawamba currently going through a purple patch for his club, had a hand in two goals; scoring once and assisting another, as Al Taawoun defeated Al Duhail 2-1 in Taawoun’s opening game of the AFC champions league.

The Cameroonian stunned fans at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium when he scored Taawoun’s equaliser at the 11th minute, after Edmilson Junior had given Al Duhail the lead.

Tawamba’s goal was well taken. Set free by Tariq Mohammed, the poacher spotted goalkeeper Salah Zakaria in an advanced position and expertly chipped the ball beyond him.

32-year-old Tawamba further assisted for Álvaro Medrán deep into the second half (86), as Al Taawoun won it late.

Tawamba has scored 17 goals accros all competitions this season. Al Taawoun are placed second in group D of the AFC champions league after the victory. They play Pakhtakor next on April 10.
