Teenage Sensation Baleba Draws Interests From Europe’s Top Clubs

According to 90 min, Cameroonian youth international Carlos Baleba, 19, has caught the eye of major clubs in Europe’s top 5 leagues.

The latter arrived only a year ago in France, from Ecole de Football Brasseries, a training center based in Cameroon. Then he was 18, and played his first professional match in August last year against Auxerre. Paulo Fonseca, Lille’s coach, immediately noticed the qualities of his player, who played 14 matches in all competitions.

90 min mentioned that clubs like Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal have sent scouts to observe the player.

The same source quotes that AC Milan tried to recruit him during the winter transfer window, and other teams such as Juventus, Nice and Monaco were interested in the player, but a transfer to the Premier League still seems to be the most likely scenario.

Lille is not against selling him, the amount requested would be substantially the same as that paid by Everton for Amadou Onana. It is therefore an offer of about 30 million euros that will move Baleba from the North of France.
