Tegemo At Brace, YOSA Return To Winning Ways In Group B

Captain Emmanuel Tegemo hit a brace for Yong Sports Academy in their crucial 2-1 win against group B leaders, Bamboutos FC upon resumption of the MTN Elite One championship over the weekend.

Both teams approached the game with an unsatisfactory form. YOSA won just once in their last 5, while Bamboutos were on a streak of 5 draws.

The men of coach Anumewa Franklin took the lead 8 minutes after the half hour mark and it was captain ‘fantastic’, Emmanuel Tegemo with the opener.

Prior to the game, Tegemo had only scored a single goal and fans expected last season’s go-to-guy to hit the form he has shown in the past seasons.

After the break, the deafening noise at the Mbouda Municipal stadium was silenced and a pin’s drop could be heard after Tegemo added another at the 53rd minute.

Coach Ina Ngassa reacted by making a couple of substitutions and it paid for the Mangwa Boys who halved deficit courtesy Eugene Edjenguele at the 73rd minute. The group leaders however could not complete a comeback and it ended 2-1 for YOSA. YOSA moves to the 8th position with 12 points. Bamboutos maintains first position with 20 points, two above second-placed Fovu.
