Thomas Libiih: 2019 U17 AFCON Winner Joins Leopard

A few days before resumption of the MTN Elite Two, Leopard of Douala have penned down a new coach.

After the resignation of coach Benjamin Mongo, the team nicknamed “Bana mba njoh” have acquired the services of one of Cameroon’s most sought-after coach, Thomas Libiih.

The terms of the 55-year-old technician’s contract is yet to be shared, but expectations of the leaders and supporters of Leopard are clear.

The former Cameroonian international is tasked with maintaining the Douala outfit in the second-tier.

An experience manager with a good track record as a player and coach, the former Tonnerre Kalara Club player returns to relaunch in Cameroon after a rather short adventure in Djibouti with Arta Solar 7.

Winner of the AFCON U17 in 2019 with Cameroon, Thomas Libiih will have to pass on his knowledge and experience to a club that has lacked in quality since the start of the season.

After three match days, Leopard recorded a draw and two defeats. A bad start which will have to be quickly corrected with tough competition.
