Transfers: Fidel Brice Ambina Joins Cape Town City

Midfeilder – Fidel Brice Ambina has completed a four-year move to the South African side Cape Town City FC from newly promoted Cameroon Elite One side, Renaissance FC.

Ambina Brice was a mainstay in Cameroon’s U20 UNIFFAC triumph last year, and gave a great account of himself in Ousmanou Christoph’s AFCON U20 side, despite a quarter finals exit against Ghana, in Mauritania.

Ambina was sidelined for chunks of last season due to Injury, but still edged two assists and a goal for then Elite One wannabes – Renaissance FC, who are now in the top-tier.

A cool headed box-to-box midfeilder, Brice is extremely serious and fully committed to
football. Very strong mentally, he shows an aboveaverage maturity as he has always played with older players. His room for improvement is huge and a professional structure like Cape Town will enable him a quick development to become a top midfielder. He already spent one month in Europe in July 2019 (Denmark and Switzerland) and adapted very easily to
his teams, teammates and general life.
Brice has a different playing profile than a majority of teenage players.

Compared to others, he has a very
direct style of play favoring comfortable passes to help his team maintain possession. However, he exactly
knows how to manage the flow of the game and to steer the game either through short passes or by alternating the game with long passes. He choses the right moment either to make attacking runs or to find the right vertical passes to speed up the game. He thus directly contributes a lots to attacking moves of his team in the form of assists, shots on goal and even sometime goals. Defensively, Brice is strong to cover the space between him and the chain in midfield. He has a great sens of anticipation and can be strong and aggressive in one v one situations.

Cape Town City FC are 9th placed in the South African Championship, and with the help of Eric Tinkler, Ambina can only grow more
