Transfers: Hearts Want Their ‘Mbella’ In Junior Kaaba
Hearts of Oak have engaged in talks to get a prolific goal – hunter from Cameroon, with Fauve Azure’s Junior Kaaba emerging as favorite to get the wink.
It hasn’t been all that smooth for the outgoing champions of the GPL, with most of the team’s woes coming at the level of an unproductive attack line.
It is indeed a direct star contrast to Kotoko, who have taken the league by storm courtesy Mfegue and Mbella Etouga, gotten from Cameroon last summer.
For starters, Hearts of Oak target, Kaaba – has hit the front pages in Cameroon’s first round of fixtures in the Elite One Championship.
The 23-year-old has so far bagged 7 goals and most impressively, he is a team player who is always willing to place on the plate for a teammate with 5 assists so far.
Kaaba is only second to Apam Bemol in the scoring chart of this year’s Elite One Championship.
The former Colombe and YAFOOT forward is a very different kind of forward to Kotoko’s Etouga.
The later could be utilized in 4-4-2 caved to 4-5-1-esque formations, playing as a single striker up front.
With coach Samuel Boadu show-named ‘Jose Mourinho’ – due to similar systems with the Portuguese tactician, he too could be licking his lips over the prospect of getting the striker.
Without a partner up front, Kaaba can act as a lone striker if needed, with a wide variety of attributes to succeed: Pace, strength, close control, passing, dribbling, consistency and shooting—both long distance and inside the area.
Sportsglitz.net understands that Al Hilal omdurman are equally interested in the profile of the player.
Kaaba has been compensated by Indomitable Lions coach Rigobert Song, for his blistering start to the season, as he makes the cut in the list of 25 local players to camp with the Lions’ technical team from May 23-27.
